Latest OLED TV news

As the FED TV scene is quiet at the moment, I’ll report on the latest OLED TV developments.

Toshiba has withdrawn from the OLED TV market citing mass production costs and concerns about power consumption. This has to be a blow for Toshiba after pulling out of the SED TV joint venture with Canon. What next Toshiba?

Samsung is on track to show a 31″ OLED TV at CES 2008 in Las Vegas next month. They have also announced the production of a huge 40″ OLED TV. This has been compared to Sony’s XEL-1 OLED TV which is a bit like comparing apples to oranges. Try walking into a store and buying a Samsung OLED TV.
